I travelled the world and I live abroad. Yet, inside I still wander wide-open landscapes of home, dreaming Nordic dreams. Along the foggy dream-coasts with sandy soils, I soak the smell of seaweed and spruce, while the salty air tickles my cheeks. Oh, over these blue waters, strong winds shall carry my Nordic dreams.
My latest collection is named ` P L A Y `. My inspiration come from the beautiful Japanese kimono and obis. I have used their pretty colors combinations and translated them into my weavings. I used to visit Tokyo several times during my years working as a fashion designer. I fell totally in love with that city. Arriving in Tokyo was like entering another world.
The other part of the collection is kept in creme and blue hues. I found the pretty dip dyed wool in the town where I was born, Haderslev in the south of Denmark. I saved it for this special project. Still the Japanese kimono´s and obi´s are my inspiration. I like how the thin wool yarn and the bulky wool roving go hand in hand..
I had a wonderful Friday morning meeting with my friend Diana picking apples and sharing creative ideas. I met Diana through Instagram last year, she is so inspiring and warm hearted. Her photo skills are amazing and I enjoy watching her play with light, shadows and composition. Photo credit @diana_lovring
Once in a while I spend time re-decoration my son´s room. I love to mix & match homemade, vintage and new decor in his nusery. I collect all his drawings in a big book. When i re-decorate I look through the book and find new things for his wall. My favorite drawing is the paper doll with the checked shirt and a big tag, saying ´i love dad`…
I´m proud to see my woven wall hanging collection in the newly renovated penthouse apartments at Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here nicely mixed with accessories from #placedebleu, styling #heyhome, photo #jacobkirk.
I finished my project BIG last week and the BIG wall hanging is now on its way to Denmark. I hope it will hang on beautiful walls for many years to come and share great memories… Below you can follow my way through the project. It was my first time working on my new loom. The wall cover is 110 x 150 cm. On my new loom Im able to weave 200 x 200 cm.
I dream of sorbet ice cream today. But instead of eating ice cream, I made a beautiful wall cover in pretty sorbet colors. Working with spun and unspun wool gives the wall hanging a new edge, I like this kinda edge.
Summer, we are ready, where are you? I spoke with my family in Denmark this morning, and they told me about the wonderful weather they have in Denmark these days.
