I travelled the world and I live abroad. Yet, inside I still wander wide-open landscapes of home, dreaming Nordic dreams. Along the foggy dream-coasts with sandy soils, I soak the smell of seaweed and spruce, while the salty air tickles my cheeks. Oh, over these blue waters, strong winds shall carry my Nordic dreams.
When it comes to decorate my house with flowers, I must say, I´m addicted to the eucalyptus greens. I love the washed out look – and the peach feel. The smell reminds me of a wonderful spa place I tried, when I visited the Seychelles a few years ago. When i can´t find snow berries this time of year, peach hypericum will do. #seekthesimplicity
In my family we decorate the house the 1st Sunday of Advent. Willum has his own tiny tree from the beginning of December, filled with homemade Christmas ornaments mixed with @mailegworld accessories. His name heart made by my dear friend Ditte, is always a part of the decorations, I like to add personality. The rest of the house has a very simple Christmas styling, inspired by the Nordic countries. I love simplicity. The 2nd weekend of December we all go to London for Christmas shopping, it is such a nice tradition, which i hope we will keep doing, when we move back to Denmark one day… London has a vibe that I like and the decorations around the city during Christmas is stunning! I will tell you more about our traditions – how we celebrate Christmas eve – when we get closer to Christmas, stay tuned…
During the Wool & Yarn Fair in North Yorkshire, I had the pleasure to visit The Graduate Showcase, in association with Embroiderer´s Guild. It´s always a pleasure and great inspiration for an (old) textile designer to see, how young designers are developing today – I noticed that craftsmanship and handmade skills are still crucial if you want to stand out from the crowd – that brought a smile to my face 🙂
One year ago I never thought roving would be such an important ingredient in my every day life. I learned a lot the past year, lots of ups and downs – but I still know, with my passion and love for weaving, I will succeed – thanks for all your support, I couldn´t do it without you! #followyourheart
the Winter season has arrived, I´m a huge fan! First of all because I like the colors of the naked landscape, it has such a beautiful graphic feel. 2nd, it´s time to sit inside and read books and drink coffee!! I just received `the kinfolk home` this morning, can´t wait to get started! Have a beautiful day.
I worked in the fashion industry as a designer for more than 15 years, I don´t think I ever used the color orange in one of my collections. I do not think orange does anything good for you.. that´s also why I fell in love with these ghost pumpkins from the local market today. Happy Halloween!!
When I was a child i loved collecting flowers from my grandma´s garden and dry them i my books at home. I still do it once in a while, love the simplicity.
