I travelled the world and I live abroad. Yet, inside I still wander wide-open landscapes of home, dreaming Nordic dreams. Along the foggy dream-coasts with sandy soils, I soak the smell of seaweed and spruce, while the salty air tickles my cheeks. Oh, over these blue waters, strong winds shall carry my Nordic dreams.
My latest collection is named ` P L A Y `. My inspiration come from the beautiful Japanese kimono and obis. I have used their pretty colors combinations and translated them into my weavings. I used to visit Tokyo several times during my years working as a fashion designer. I fell totally in love with that city. Arriving in Tokyo was like entering another world.
The other part of the collection is kept in creme and blue hues. I found the pretty dip dyed wool in the town where I was born, Haderslev in the south of Denmark. I saved it for this special project. Still the Japanese kimono´s and obi´s are my inspiration. I like how the thin wool yarn and the bulky wool roving go hand in hand..
I don´t think I ever shared with you my favorite wall hanging. I kept it in creme wool, with a hint of dusty rose. In the wool I mixed a thin brass metal thread, it gave the piece an arty feel. I sold it to a beautiful getaway in Scotland, named Killiehuntly Farmhouse. I can´t wait to go there this Spring to visit this unique place and to explore the wild nature…
Hi there dear friends, I want to share with you my master piece of the collection. I´m so excited about this wall art. I´ve used my favorite colors, creme and nude. I discovered a new wool roving supplier last week, located only 15 minus from my house @adelaidewalker had the biggest selection of wool roving i ever saw! I found the beautiful drift wood stick when I visited Lakeland earlier this Summer, I believe it just completes the piece.
